Due to increasing demand and the need for our customers to have the ability to weld other materials, we are pleased to introduce 4 new gas mixes which include stainless steel and aluminium welding gases and a specialist leak detecting gas.

Hobbyweld Stainless (98/2) - Welding Gas

The Hobbyweld Stainless gas is a blend of 98% Argon and 2% Carbon Dioxide. Hobbyweld Stainless 98/2 provides an entry level gas for those welding stainless steel below 8mm and provides greater fusion and welding characteristics than if pure argon is used.

Available in both Original and Ultra cylinders

Hobbyweld AL50 - Aluminium Welding Gas

AL50 is designed for customers welding thicker sections of aluminium and other non ferrous metals, those who require higher strength welds than what pure argon can achieve. Customers will also experience a higher level of spatter and porosity control as well as much faster welding speeds. The Hobbyweld AL50 is an equal parts mixture of Helium and Argon which also makes it suitable for copper and titanium alloys.

Hobbyweld SS50 - Stainless Steel Welding Gas

SS50 is a blend of 50% Helium, 48% Argon and 2% Carbon Dioxide. This gas is specifically manufactured for those welding stainless steel with a thickness in the range of 3 to 10mm and offers the best overall weld speed, spatter control, fusion and weld penetration. This gas is the industry standard for professional stainless steel welding applications.

Hobbyweld Tracer Gas - Leak Detecting Gas

This tracer gas is a blend of 95% Nitrogen and 5% Hydrogen which creates a non-flammable, non-toxic gas which, when used with specialist leak detection equipment can hunt out even the smallest leaks. This process is up to 100 times more sensitive than common leak detection methods.

Only available in the Original gas cylinder
