Classic Car Memories
An article by John Rodden
Having a think back about the cars you’ve owned in the past can bring back some great memories, can’t they?
My first car was a 1992 VW Polo coupe bought from a local dealer for £500. The car was a sickly shade of green and not in the best condition. If I’m honest I have no idea why I bought it, but gradually “she” did grow on me!
It was the height of summer and the weather was perfect for a drive to the Lake District. I filled up the tank 3 times on the way there, which is not so unusual I guess, unless you live in Newcastle...
Remember these bad lads? I was always armed with my trusty audio cassette adaptor when I had my weekend jaunts in the Polo, it was the cheapest option for me - it was either that or listen to my only other tape... A Guns n Roses compilation.
Keep an eye out for our next article, we have a chat with Rob Ostle who shares some memories of his own.
