The team behind PSSI started their business life in Penrith in 2003 by signing a ten year franchise agreement with Pirtek.   We cut our teeth learning about hydraulic hoses, and over the ten years we grew the business to six times the size it was when we took over.

Being a franchisee has its disadvantages though, because all products must be bought at an inflated price from the franchiser.   So in 2013 at the end of the franchise agreement we declined to renew, and set up an independent business, taking our team with us.   Thankfully we didn’t have to worry about heating costs for the first year as we merely burnt the threatening letters from Pirtek reminding us we could not engage in the hydraulic hose business until August 2014.

For the first year we simply concentrated on other areas of industrial supply:  pneumatics, compressors, fixings, fasteners, groundcare products, lubricants, bearings, metal removal products, drive components (bearings, belts, chains, pulleys), PPE clothing  and boots, power tools, hand tools, log splitters, firewood processors, welders and welding consumables etc.
